      Some thoughts: - after using a screen with a large widget + Siri suggestions as my only home screen since installing iOS 14, my old layout looks weird - this isn’t a terrible idea actually — perhaps if they were smart app/contact suggestions it would be useful!

        Fun fact: there was something vaguely like this in the iOS 8 multitasking/app switcher view. It only lasted a year since they redesigned the UI in iOS 9 to match what is essentially the current style five years later.

          I wonder if the significantly larger phone screens of today’s devices would support significantly increased functionality in the multitasking view — like contact buttons or suggested apps
